HOW PLAP STARTED
It started with a party that was too hard to plan
The idea (2018)
Everything lived somewhere different.
“I just want to host a great event
In 2018, Dimeji wanted to host a proper night out, done right. He needed a venue, media, ticketing, and a way to promote it—all in different places.
The Problem
Everything lived somewhere different.
Too many apps. Too much back and forth.
Everything lived on different platforms, meaning multiple conversations and manual work just to manage one event. Very manual, very stressful. He thought: this shouldn't be this hard.
The SPARK!
Why isn't this all in one place?
That question became Plap.
"Plan a party" became Plap. And Plap became something much bigger than a party planning app.
TODAY!
Built, Rethought, Rebuilt.
Paused, reimagined, and rebuilt for more.
The first version launched in 2022, built by two people figuring it out as they went. After a pause and a rethink, Plap came back—better, sharper, and built with a bigger vision.
Not a tool. An ecosystem.
From the first idea to the final guest check-out, Plap brings every part of your event together. Ticketing, payments, discovery, and everything in between, all in one place, not scattered across different apps. Built in Nigeria, made for wherever great events happen.
Your next favourite night is already on here.
Come find it. Or build it.
